"Johnny's Mafia" was created at the beginning of his journey to show support, both emotional and financial, to him and his family throughout his battle with Ewing's Sarcoma. Johnny loved sports and his favorite player was always Josh Allen ❤️💙 He even shared Josh's football number, 17. That's why Johnny's Mafia colors have always been red and blue and the number 17 is prominent throughout.
Many of us here at SES have strong ties to Johnny and his family, so we wanted to honor him and send our unwavering love and support to his family in this most difficult time.
Yesterday being the first day of the 2026 NFL Draft, many of our staff wore Buffalo Bills or other red and blue gear to honor Johnny in the best way we could think of. We hope that our love and support reaches the LaMancuso Family and that the Johnny's Mafia community will continue to bring awareness and hope to others dealing with Ewing's Sarcoma. Johnny will always be remembered as a kind, fun loving, athletic beacon of light in our community. While he will be greatly missed, his spirit, positive energy, and light will continue to be felt throughout our community for a long time to come.

After about a month of patiently incubating duck eggs, the big moment has arrived—they’re hatching! 🎉
So far, we have 7 adorable ducklings, and a few more eggs are still pipped, so the excitement isn’t over yet! 💛
A big thank you to Mrs. Crisanti Meeder, from the high school, for partnering with the PreK class on this project. She visited yesterday to teach the students how to safely handle the ducklings and even helped them create a fun duck-themed craft! 🎨🦆

Meet Frank! 🦆He's the newest hatch from our agricultural class. Meeting Frank made today the best day ever for Mrs. Mangus! #ItsAlwaysAGreatDayInTheValley

Surprisingly, their guided tour was led by CVCS alum, Alan Jones, making the experience even more special. Students explored a wide variety of plants, trees, and flora while visiting all the different domes, including the rainforest, desert, bonsai, begonias, orchids, and the koi pond.
One group favorite was watching the bees busy at work and learning how they take turns beating their wings up to 7,800 times per minute to generate heat during the winter. 🐝 Mrs. Schrader’s highlight, however, was discovering how cocoa beans are transformed into chocolate—sweet knowledge indeed! 🍫
The group also enjoyed a horticultural hero art exhibition. It was a fun and memorable experience for everyone!

Alongside peers from four other schools, students explored historical landmarks and monuments. A highlight of the trip was visiting the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, where students engaged in a meaningful learning experience. They also had the rare and impactful opportunity to hear firsthand testimony from a Holocaust survivor! Prior to their trip a second-generation speaker shared her father’s story, from the Kindertransport to his role as a U.S. liberator.
Throughout the trip, students explored the foundations of American democracy, including visits to the National Archives Building, The People's House, and a guided tour of the United States Capitol. They also participated in a powerful monuments tour and a walking tour focused on individuals and movements that have shaped the fight for human rights.
The experience concluded with a visit to a local synagogue, where students engaged in thoughtful conversations and reflection—connecting historical lessons to present-day issues.
This unforgettable journey allowed students to deepen their understanding of history, empathy, and civic responsibility. We are incredibly proud of how they represented our school and embraced this meaningful opportunity. Students felt this trip was an amazing opportunity and were thankful to attend.#ValleyProud #Connection #BetheChange
