This young Barred Owl came to Ms. Burns after being hit by a vehicle on Slide Rd. near Ellery Center. The owl had some serious head trauma but after it's last veterinary check on Monday, was cleared for release. Mrs. Burns teaches Wildlife Management and is a NYSDEC and Federally Permitted Wildlife Rehabilitator.

The Middle School Open House, scheduled for October 13th, has been POSTPONED. We are currently working on a plan to safely have this event, however at this point, it would not be possible to have all the students and parents in the school at the same time.

4th graders in Mrs. Wise's class participated in "Flashlight Friday." Students were given a flashlight and were able to pick a book of their choice to silently read for 20 minutes while a "campfire" was roaring in the background (on the screen).

Friday, October 1, 2021 - The District will be implementing our annual "Emergency Go Home Early Drill." All SES and M/HS students will be dismissed 15 minutes early.

Key Club members made cards for active military members that will go out in boxes being sent by the Blue Star Mothers on October 16. The Key Club was asked to participate in this project by the Tau Sigma National Honor Society at SUNY Fredonia.

Students in Mr. Cole's Computer Hardware class have been busy installing Motherboards, RAM and Power Supplies into their PC cases. Within the next week they will have fully functional computers to work with.

REMINDER: A Chicken BBQ Fundraiser for the Class of 2022 will take place at the M/HS building on Saturday, 9/25, from 2 PM - 5 PM!

This joint statement is coming from the District Offices of the Cassadaga Valley, Falconer and Bemus Point Central Districts regarding a student athlete who has tested positive for COVID-19. This student is a member of the Varsity Football team and, as a result, all non-vaccinated players on our merged varsity football team are quarantined and unable to play in tomorrow’s football game previously scheduled to take place at Cassadaga Valley. The number of student-athletes from this merged team who are fully vaccinated is not enough to field a team and therefore tomorrow’s game against Salamanca is being postponed. We are working with the County Health Department to determine the quarantine status of unvaccinated players and we will then determine with Section VI Athletics how we will move forward with our upcoming games. This is obviously a circumstance that is currently unfolding and we will communicate updates as we get information from the County. But, to reiterate, our Varsity Football game originally scheduled for tomorrow (9/25/21) is canceled.

Parents/Guardians of SENIORS... Parent ads for the yearbook can be designed, created, and paid for online or given to Mrs. Shields in Room 119. See the flyers attached for more information. Ads and payments are due by 1/31/2022. Information was given to all members of the senior class this morning.

Fall Picture Day for the M/HS building (including Pre-K) will be Monday, Sept. 27.

SES parents, please note: Sinclairville Elementary School Open House, scheduled for September 30th, has been POSTPONED. We are currently working on a plan to safely have this event, however at this point in the year, it would not be possible to have all the students and parents in the school at the same time. There will be more information to come on this. Sinclairville Elementary School Literacy Night scheduled for October 14th at 6:00pm has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. If anything changes between now and the dates of the events listed above, we will immediately notify you. Important message regarding COVID related absences and tutoring

The regular monthly meeting of the CVCS Board of Education will be held Monday, September 13, 2021, in the M/HS Multipurpose Room. The meeting will begin at 6 PM, at which time we anticipate the Board going into Executive Session. We expect the regular monthly meeting to begin at 7 PM.

Middle/High School yearbooks are on sale now! You can order yours now at www.jostens.com or you can pay by cash or check (payable to Valley View 2022) to Mrs. Bennink in Room 125. The Back to School Offer is the cheapest amount that you can purchase the book. This offer is going on now until October 29th. High School Books during this offer are $60.00 (which includes tax). Middle School Books are $22.00 (which includes tax) during this offer. Contact Mrs. Bennink if you have any questions.
