You may already know, but we wanted to send out a reminder that Cassadaga Valley Central School District is offering FREE MEALS TO ALL KIDS (AGE 18 & YOUNGER). Though this school year looks different than usual, we’re still committed to making sure our students have the nutrition they need to learn.
Who can get free meals?
Any student, whether they are doing in-person learning at school or virtual/remote learning at home, can get free meals. Free meals are also available to children 18 years & younger who are not enrolled in our district. This includes younger children who are not in school yet, children enrolled in other districts and children who are homeschooled.
Where are the free meals available?
Meals are packed and made available for families to pick-up every Monday and Thursday each week. On Monday, children receive meals for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Thursday, children receive meals for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Just drive up to the Middle/High School gym door between 3:30pm and 5:30pm. Children do not have to be present for meal pick-up. If you are unable to pick up meals for your children at that time, you can designate someone else to pick them up for you!
Why have things kept changing?
Our program has to follow certain rules set at the national level by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). We have made changes based on what is allowed by the USDA.
What else do I need to know?
These meals are convenient, safe and nutritious. Support our school meals program while saving your family time and money. When all families participate, it keeps the program strong for families in need.
