We’re thrilled to welcome Ann Morrison as our new Director of Pupil Services! With 22 years of experience in education — including a decade in administrative roles — Ann brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to our team. In just her first week, she’s already been actively connecting with students, staff, and community members. We’re excited to continue building these relationships and advancing student success in both general and special education throughout The Valley!

We have power - the elementary school will start on time! Thanks to the amazing crews for working diligently through the night to restore power at SES!

Attention Cougar community!!! We just got word that there’s an electrical issue at the elementary school where there’s no power and crews have been called out, from Buffalo, to work on restoring it.
At this point, we do not know if the power will be restored by 5AM. If we need to delay or cancel the **elementary school only**, we will send out an all call and also post updates here. If we need to delay SES ONLY we will update you by 6AM.

This week, May 4-9, is Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you to all teachers and everything you do!

🌿 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🌿
This month is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and wellness, reducing stigma, and showing support for the millions of people affected by mental illness. It's a time to educate, advocate for better policies, and open up the conversation around mental health—because mental health is just as important as physical health.
Throughout May, we'll be sharing helpful resources, information, stories, and ways you can get involved. Let’s work together to create a more compassionate, informed, and supportive community. 💚#MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #EndTheStigma #YouAreNotAlone

Students in Business Math class participated in a virtual stock market challenge during the month of March and then, this past Friday, took the skills they learned to take part in a live challenge. 12 students traveled to Erie 1 BOCES, in West Seneca, to compete in the Junior Achievement USA's live event. Junior Achievement Take Stock in Your Future curriculum, taught by both Mr. Helwig and Mrs. Schrader, instructed students in understanding the foundational concepts of stocks and analyzing the stock market. They learned the value of and benefits associated with long-term investments and the concept of compound growth.
Students learned a variety of financial instruments and their risks and rewards as they apply to asset management. The students competing then put their market knowledge, learned in the classroom, into live practice. They bought and sold stocks based on current events that were announced during the competition and then had 60 seconds to make a decision based on the current event. At the conclusion of the event, students were treated to pizza donated by Crosby's. The event has many sponsors such as Delta Airlines, Wells Fargo, HSBC and JPMorganChase, to name a few. Although they didn't win, the class sure had a great time!

🌟A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Cafeteria Staff!🌟
School Lunch Hero Day is tomorrow and to show their appreciation for everything the cafeteria staff does to keep students and staff fueled throughout the day, the Foods and Workforce Readiness students organized a special luncheon in their honor.
"Thank you bunches for our lunches!"
In addition, the FFA provided a roma tomato plant to each cafeteria team member as a token of gratitude. We’re incredibly thankful for all they do behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly and deliciously!
