New year, new faces! Exciting changes are coming as our wonderful librarians switch things up for the upcoming school year! Kim Joslyn will be returning to SES, while Marlene Anderson is heading to MHS.

We asked them what they're most looking forward to in this new chapter — here’s what they had to say!

Jeanine Bailey is one of our Special Education teachers and when we asked her about the new role she'll be shifting into, here's what she said! "This will be my 23rd year with CVCS and 10th year at Sinclairville Elementary. After many years teaching as a Consultant & Resource Room teacher, I am super excited to be going back to the self-contained setting! I'm looking forward to the class family we will be creating this year, and all the ways we all will learn and grow together most of all!"

New year, new faces! While JoAnne Banse-Fay is not new to the district, she's a newly certified teacher and we're ecstatic about welcoming her as a new elementary teacher! JoAnne started out as a teacher aide in 2020, earned her degree and teaching certificate while working here, and did multiple long-term substitute teaching assignments over the last couple of school years. Please welcome JoAnne as one of our new elementary teachers! #ValleyProud!

Corey Bell's been with the district since 2021 as a Working Supervisor and while he's technically still in this same position, he's taken on the role of "Custodian in Charge" at MHS. When we asked Corey what he's most excited about in this new role, he state, "I'm excited for my new role and the challenges that will come along with it." Corey is always willing to help wherever he's needed and takes on new tasks. He's looking forward to continuing to grow and make a positive impact in our school community.

Kennedy Neckers started out student teaching and briefly subbing at The Valley before getting hired as a full time AIS K-5 reading provider last fall. This fall she'll be in a Kindergarten classroom and when we asked what she was most excited about with this new role, Kennedy stated, "I am so excited to be taking on this new role with the Kindergarten team for the 25-26 school year! I am most looking forward to teaching some new material that will push me to be the best teacher I can be, as well as spending an entire year learning and growing with my class.” #ValleyProud

We’ve had the pleasure of having Tracy VanVolkenburg on our team since 2017 as part of our Buildings and Grounds Department. Recently, he transitioned to Sinclairville Elementary, where he’s also taken on the additional role of "Custodian in Charge" at SES. Morgan Gumhalter was hired in the Spring of 2021. This upcoming school year, Ms. Gumhalter will be transitioning from Kindergarten to 6th grade ELA. When asked what she's most excited about in this new role, Ms. Gumhalter stated, "The thing I'm looking forward to the most is instilling a passion for literacy in my students. Reading has always been a big part of my life and I want the same for my students. I can’t wait to dive deep into literary elements and writing to forge creativity and love for all things literacy in each of my 6th graders. I want my students to know that both reading for knowledge and reading for pleasure are extremely important, and can take you places you’ve never seen before!"

New year, new faces! Our next new hire spotlight is Maddie Yochim, our newest Speech-Language Pathologist! While this is Maddie's first position in her professional career, she's gained a lot of experience through clinical placements across a variety of settings, including early intervention, public schools, as well as inpatient and outpatient therapy.
