We have some sad news to share as a beloved member of our school community passed away yesterday. Mr. David Abram, who served this District with distinction as the high school principal from 1967 until his retirement in 1991 passed away Thursday at the age of 90. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing or working with Mr. Abram can reflect back on what a wonderful person he was, and how dedicated he was to our school and community. Having grown up here and then returning to serve as principal for 24 years is a clear demonstration of his love for the Valley.
Our deepest condolences go out to the entire Abram family at this difficult time. We will share the arrangements as they become available.

Reminder: 3-5th grade students will be completing the state test in ELA tomorrow morning at SES! Please encourage them to get a good night's sleep, to relax, and do their best on the test! They will do great!

This is a message to notify all families, faculty and staff that despite a number of hoax phone calls that other schools in our region have received, everything here at CVCS remains safe - and our regular school schedules have been followed throughout the afternoon. We will have a regular dismissal and after school activities will take place as originally planned. While we maintained a "lockout" this afternoon, it was simply to employ a procedure that enhances our building security - there was never a direct concern for anyone's safety here in the Valley. Thank you and have a great evening!

Good afternoon Cougar Family! I'm writing to share an important notification regarding a regional and statewide hoax about school shootings. These calls to a wide variety of school districts are totally unfounded and School District officials and law enforcement officers are all aware of the "swatting" efforts designed to elicit widespread concern. There is a regional response from school leaders to reassure our communities that there is no credibility to these phone calls or internet statements. Out of an abundance of caution we will be in a lockout for the remainder of the school day. A lockout simply means that access to the buildings will be extremely limited - but everyone is safe and sound. Buffalo area TV media is also reinforcing the message that these are faulty claims. Thank you for your understanding.

PreK and Kindergarten Registration now open for the 2023-2024 school year at Cassadaga Valley Central Schools! If your child has already attended PreK at CVCS, they are automatically registered for Kindergarten. Students new to the district in both PreK and K will need to register!

On Tuesday, March 28th, nine 5th grade students participated in STEM Wars at the Jamestown Ice Arena. The competition included coding, marble runs, catapults, poster design and a Maker Fair. They all did an amazing job!

Hallway Safety Patrol has begun at SES! Students are stepping into leadership roles at all grade levels and reminding others to follow safety rules during entrance and dismissal.

Good afternoon. Just a few minutes ago the smoke alarm was triggered in the middle/high school building. Everyone in the building evacuated immediately and we were able to quickly ascertain that the cause was a contractor making a repair in the boiler room. The repair required some welding and that set off the smoke alarm. When the alarm is triggered the fire department is automatically notified. They are currently on site, checking the situation and clearing the alarm. Everyone is safe and back in the building.
