Hello Cassadaga Valley Community,
We have reached the end of the school year for most of our students, and we are on to Regents Exams. 6th Grade Students will continue to have full days of school on Friday 6/14, Monday 6/17, & Tuesday 6/18. They move to half days Thursday, 6/20 - Tuesday, 6/25.
The Regents Exam schedule is attached here. Because our Transportation Department is absolutely awesome, they are running midday runs to take students home from morning exams, and picking up for afternoon exams. Students being picked up for afternoon exams should be waiting outside their house no later than 10:40AM for the bus to bring them to school. Feel free to reach out to the Transportation Department (716-962-5185) if you would like to double check on anything during this time.
Students waiting at school for an exam should report directly to the cafeteria for supervision.
Students taking an afternoon exam will also have transportation available to bring them home too.
6th grade half-day dismissal is at 10:30AM on the last four days of school.
As always, please reach out to the Main Office if you have any questions!!

This program is FREE to any and all community members, and there are no requirements for eligibility. No ID or income requirements.

The seniors competed in a Blokus game tournament today in the library.
The finalists were Nate Case, Andrea Johnson, Robert Polley, and Mason Rhoades.
Andrea Johnson was the 1st ever CVCS Blokus Champion. Congratulations to Andrea!

Students learn best when they are in environments in which they feel safe, supported, challenged, and accepted. Research shows that when schools and districts focus on improving school climate, students are more likely to engage in the curriculum, develop positive relationships, and demonstrate positive behaviors.
School climate is a broad, multifaceted concept that involves many aspects of the student’s educational experience. A positive school climate is the product of a school’s attention to fostering safety; promoting a supportive academic, disciplinary, and physical environment; and encouraging and maintaining respectful, trusting, and caring relationships throughout the school community no matter the setting—from Pre-K/Elementary School to higher education.
A positive school climate is critically related to school success. For example, it can improve attendance, achievement, and retention and even rates of graduation, according to research. School climate has many aspects. Defining a framework for understanding school climate can help educators identify key areas to focus on to create safe and supportive climates in their schools.
The ED School Climate Survey (EDSCLS) is being administered by Cassadaga Valley Central School District. Your responses are important in understanding the environment of this district and the conditions for teaching and learning.
These surveys are completely anonymous for you to fill out online. With that said, if you do not want to fill these out digitally, feel free to print a copy or copies may be picked up at either school main offices. Please complete the survey by Monday, June 17th.

PTO meeting next week!

On May 18th, several Key Club members volunteered their time to help the Falconer Kiwanis Club at their children’s Bike Safety Rodeo . The event was held at the Falconer Fire Department which included a bike/helmet safety inspection along with a series of skills stations directly related to everyday bicycling situations where kids learned all about bike safety.
