This new award honors an outstanding female student-athlete from Cassadaga Valley High School — a place where Mr. Cooley taught and coached for 32 years. As he shared, at a previous board meeting, the award is “a small token of appreciation for the wonderful things that have happened to us largely because we were given the opportunity to spend a large part of our lives here in the Valley.”
Sponsored by the Chautauqua County Sports Hall of Fame and made possible by a donation to its Endowment Fund, the award will continue to recognize excellence in young women athletes for years to come. It is named for both Paul and Martha Cooley — in Mr. Cooley’s words, “because she was behind everything that I ever accomplished over the 68 years as my wife and best friend and was an avid supporter of Cassadaga Valley athletics.”
Congratulations, Emiley, on being the very first recipient of this meaningful legacy! #ValleyProud!

In their letter, they shared how grateful they were for the opportunity to participate, how much they learned and improved, and how meaningful it was to learn safe driving while having fun with their friends. 🛣️💡 Their teacher, Mrs. Bittinger, had nothing but praise, calling them a truly fantastic group to work with! 🙌 Thank you, Mrs. Bittinger, for taking on this role and giving our students a great experience!
Great job to all of our future drivers — we’re so proud of you! 🚦👏

He brought three of his pullets to display: Pauline and Oreo each earned blue ribbons 💙, and Hawk Eye earned a red ❤️ in the Appearance category.
Landon also raised market broiler chickens and participated in his first Wyoming County Meat Auction, where he earned a blue ribbon in Showmanship during the market broiler show.
As if that wasn’t enough, he also gave his first public presentation on how to care for chickens—sharing his passion and experience with others. 🐣
Landon is an incoming 4th grader at SES, and we’re so proud of everything he accomplished at the fair!

We asked them what they're most looking forward to in this new chapter — here’s what they had to say!
"I am excited to be back in the elementary building this year because I love the enthusiasm for learning in the elementary building. Watching a student's face light up when they learn something new is one of the best parts of being a teacher!" - Ms. Joslyn
"I am very excited to be working with the students and staff in the MHS! I look forward to inspiring a culture of reading, teaching digital literacy and research skills, and reinforcing problem-solving skills and creativity through hands-on STEAM projects." - Mrs. Anderson
