Come “Ring the Bell” at the Superette!
Every year the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign begins in late November to help support families in need in our district and surrounding communities. This year the Red Kettle Campaign will begin on November 27th, 2023 at the Superette in Sinclairville, NY. The campaign goes for 4 weeks and is always looking for volunteers. The money that we raise stays in our community and is meant to help families that have endured some form of hardship. In the past, the funds have been used to help families that are going through loss, to buy groceries, eye glasses, gas cards, and several other items of support. Our goal every year is to have at least 2-3 people a day “Ring the Bell”, but we would like to have even more this year! If you are interested in volunteering please contact Ryan Smith, Sinclairville Elementary School Social Worker, at 962-5195; ext. 2404 or email rsmith@cvcougars.org. Thank you so much for your support and let’s make this our best year yet.

Career Day was a huge success at Sinclairville Elementary! Parents and community members had a fun afternoon sharing their work with students and inspiring their future. Also, a special thank you to Mrs. Torrey for coordinating this awesome event.

We'd like to introduce our new monthly newspaper, The Cougar Post, developed by Sinclairville Elementary 4th and 5th grade students. https://5il.co/28f5j
Students meet after school to develop ideas and research information for articles that will then go through the editing process. Students who submit their completed articles by the deadline have their articles and pictures formatted into the Cougar Post.
The Cougar Post will be available for viewing on the Sinclairville Elementary website page and Facebook. All 4th and 5th grade students receive a printed copy as well so they can read what their peers have reported. The reporters are looking forward to others reading their articles!

The Sportsmanship award is chosen for a school by the officials who are in the Southern Tier West division. The recipient of the award shows sportsmanship through the coach, athletes, and fans. There are 3 top schools and a winner is chosen based on a points system. Congrats to our CVCS volleyball team on earning this award!

Tomorrow begins career week at SES!!

The Key Club recently made activity bags in conjunction with Falconer Kiwanis Club. They are being delivered to the Child Advocacy Program, Transitional Housing (YWCA), the Anew Center (safe house for women with children), the Falconer Emergency Ambulance, and the UPMC Emergency room. Their purpose is to occupy small children while they are stuck in waiting rooms often under stressful situations.

A huge thank you to Ms. Broadhead for doing the face painting for The Day of the Dead, or Dia De Los Muertos. Students were able to learn about the cultural significance of the day with Mrs. Orbaker and Mrs. Avila, in their Spanish class, while getting a feel for the work it takes to celebrate in costume in their Art classes today!

Happy Halloween from The Valley! 👻🎃🧙♀️🧟♀️💀
