Despite nationwide concerns related to a variety of social media posts, we have had a very safe and productive morning here at CVCS. Earlier today we had the NYS Troopers walk through our buildings and drive around our campuses. Our administrators have been as vigilant as always with our priority being overall school safety. Our afternoon is set aside for parent-teacher conferences and once those are complete we are cancelling all after school activities for today. We have not received an indication that anything here is unsafe, but to exercise caution and to be sure safety is our number one priority - we are cancelling all after school activities that were planned to take place here today. We hope you have a great weekend and that all our school families have a wonderful Holiday Season.

Mrs. Hale's 2nd grade participated in a virtual assembly from the Science Central Museum in Indiana. They have been learning about matter in Science. The assembly helped the class investigate matter more, showing them matter with liquid nitrogen!

Reminder: The CVCS HS Concert Band, Chorus, Chamber Ensembles, Jazz Ensemble, and Valley Minstrels will perform tonight at 7:30 p.m. Students should report at 7 p.m. The MS concert will be next week.

Key Club made homemade wreaths and delivered them to the nursing home for the holidays.

Attention all Modified Boys Basketball players: Optional open gyms will be this week Monday (12/13), Tuesday (12/14) and Friday 12/17) from 2:30-3:45 in the small gym. Actual practices begin 1/3. Please be sure you've filled out Family ID in order to participate.

Friday the Adulting 102 class had the privilege of a cooking demonstration with celebrity chef Mr. Cusimano. He taught the students how to prepare venison backstraps. It was enjoyed by all!

In accordance with CDC guidance, a student or staff member in quarantine as a close contact to someone with confirmed COVID-19-is now allowed to end quarantine after day 7 (i.e., day 8) after receiving a negative test result, as long as the test occurs on day 5 or later of the quarantine period. The CVCS HS Concert Band, Chorus, Chamber Ensembles, Jazz Ensemble, and Valley Minstrels will perform as scheduled on Wednesday, December 15, at 7:30 p.m. Students should report at 7 p.m. Due to a high number of student quarantines, our grades 6-7-8 Band and Chorus Concert will now take place on Wednesday, December 22, at 7:30 p.m. Students should report at 7 p.m. Visitors to the school, including all audience members, are asked to wear face masks properly over their nose and mouth and please social distance in the auditorium (at least one chair in between family groups).

M/HS Student Council members have planned an eventful December!

Recently, Amber broke a bone in her foot and she will be in a cast for 6-8 weeks. She misses her hikes tremendously, so a little attention from Javonte helps cheer her up.

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association's Scholar-Athlete Team Award Program was created to recognize outstanding scholastic achievement by varsity level student-athletes. We are proud to announce both our Boys Soccer and Girls Volleyball teams were declared recipients of this award for the Fall 2021 sports season! Congratulations to all our Scholar-Athletes!

On Friday, December 17th, the Middle/High School will be holding parent/teacher conferences. Students will be dismissed at 10:30AM in order to hold conferences on this day. We ask that you make an appointment with teachers for a conference so that there is no overlap of families for certain times.
